CDE Study Group Registration

CDE Study Group

Whether you are planning to write the Certified Diabetes Educator exam or just interested in brushing up on your knowledge of diabetes care, the OKAKI Certified Diabetes Educator Study Group is an in-depth review of all aspects of diabetes management. All content is based on the Diabetes Canada Clinical Practice Guidelines and the competencies outlined by the Canadian Certified Diabetes Educator Board. The weekly sessions are live, and include review of content, application of the guidelines, case studies, and review questions.
The course runs annually from early January until the end of May. While sessions are live and interactive, recordings are also available. All handouts, recordings, and other resources are made available until the date of the exam, and those writing the exam have access to our team of CDE nurses and dietitians leading up to the exam.

Beyond the CDE

Our Beyond the CDE group takes diabetes education to the next level. These group discussions led by our CDE team will dive into areas more advanced than the CDE study group, and will cover challenging topics such as how to support patients who have made medication dose errors, how to interpret continuous glucose monitor data, addressing unexplained hyperglycemia, insulin pump therapy and more!
As this group is discussion and case-based, recordings will NOT be available. Sessions will run once weekly from September to December.

Cost to participate is $125.00. An invoice will be sent to the email provided on this form.
