Jacey Solway
Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator
Oki! My name is Jacey Solway and I am a proud member of Siksika Nation and Amskapi-Piikani Blackfeet Nation which are both part of the Blackfoot Confederacy. I have been a Registered Nurse for 5 years, working in areas of First Nation community health with Siksika Nation, rural primary care, and acute medical and surgical care.
I graduated from Mount Royal University with a Bachelors of Nursing in 2019. I am a Certified Diabetes Educator and I am passionate about improving access to culturally safe diabetes care and education for Indigenous peoples living with diabetes.
I believe that persons who live with diabetes should have access to highly skilled, knowledgeable diabetes health care consultants who can provide active guidance and support as they move towards self-management of their condition. Everyone has unique experiences and needs, and I value building respectful relationships with my patients and their families to empower and improve their health and wellbeing.
In my spare time you can find me on the volleyball courts, outside doing long distance running or just spending quality time with my dog and family!
